TRAVEL NOTICE: Road Closures Affecting MFMS Liverpool (Sunday 20th May)

We have been made aware that the Liverpool Rock n Roll Marathon is taking place around the same as our concert on Sunday 20th May at the Capstone Theatre, Liverpool (1-3pm) and as a result the roads around the theatre will be subject to major closures. All blocks will be more-or-less gone by 2pm so leaving shouldn’t be a problem but you will need to plan your arrival carefully, especially if you are planning to arrive by car.

The roads closest to us that are affected are New Islington and Shaw Street. If you are coming by car, we recommend parking at the nearby Q Park (Royal Liverpool Hospital) and crossing over New Islington on foot as there will be access to pedestrians between runners. If you are approaching us from the city centre, access to the theatre may be available by heading towards Great Homer Street and arriving from the back of the theatre.

For full information on the roads affected, please see here or visit the Rock n Roll Marathon website. We will do our best to facilitate access to our audiences members but prior to the start of the concert, access to vehicles will be severely reduced. We recommend you arrive to the roads closest to the theatre by foot wherever possible.

We hope this doesn’t put you off coming! Shashank Subramanyam is a world class artist and definitely worth making extra preparations to see. Please do get in touch with us if you need any further advice.

Best wishes,

the Milapfest team
