Try out some Indian Folk Dance moves with our new Associate Artist Sheetal Maru!

In our next series of ‘Try it Out’ sessions, we’ll be exploring a variety of different North Indian Folk dance styles  such as Dandiya, Ghoomar, Daang Raas, Matli Dance, Garba, Tipnee etc. and dancing in groups/ partners/
exploring style, technique, creative tasks etc.  This class will give you a great, fun workout, an introduction to authentic Indian Dance styles and work towards improving your wellbeing and sense of community ♥️

6 sessions of FREE introductory Indian folk dancing delivered over 6 weeks!

Facebook LIVE videos will pop up each week on the Milapfest and Movema pages.

The sessions will be for ALL LEVELS AND ABILITIES with a mixture of both gentle and up-tempo movements.

Sheetal is an Associate Artist with Milapfest and Movema, working together to get everyone in our communities moving and learning about Indian culture

Our brand new ‘Try it Out’ sessions are designed to give you an opportunity to try out an Indian dance or music style from home! Suitable for anyone and with no previous experience or training required, in these sessions you’ll be able to explore a vast variety of art forms from Bhangra and Bharatanatyam to Garba (Gujurati Folk Dance) and Ghazal singing!  Our Bhangra ‘Try it Out’ sessions are already underway – join us each Thursday night at 7pm, on Facebook LIVE until 18th June!
