Tarang – The National Ensemble for Indian Music – is a dynamic innovation in the genre, made up of ‘maestros in the making’, young performers from the North and South Indian musical styles.Tarang’s music is all newly composed, or specially created for the ensemble, and commissioned by Milapfest from star composers of the Indian music world. Tarang performs a programme of beautiful melodies on a variety of instruments like veena, sitar, mridangam, tabla, santoor and voice, coming together to create a sound rarely heard in Indian music. The music is traditional and modern, classical and contemporary, capturing the essence of Indian classical music.
