A special flute and violin duet features beautiful compositions and improvisation from traditional and modern Carnatic repertoire, with accompaniment on South Indian percussion by RN Prakash. Known in India as an expert of Carnatic (South Indian) flute, Shantala developed her music in Bangalore and Chennai, learning in her early years with her father, and brother Shashank Subramanyam. Akkarai S Sornalatha is also from a musical family, and is a prominent solo and ensemble violinist, and they both perform around India and other parts of the world.
