Milapfest's Artschool
Milapfest's Artschool continues with even more art forms taught the Cornerstone at Liverpool Hope University. After a one-year pilot programme of successful dance classes, and taster sessions in Sitar & Tabla, the school continues to provide three terms of regular teaching. Classes take place on Thursday evenings and Saturday afternoons, and are open to all ages, and people of all backgrounds.

Sitar with Gaurav Mazumdar
World Renowned Sitarist, composer and teacher, Gaurav Mazumdar, is a senior disciple of Pt Ravi Shankar, and a prolific, popular and hugely talented performer all over the world. He has performed in festivals in Europe, USA and India, and in collaborations with Daniel Hope, George Harrison and other celebrated musicians from Indian and World Music.
Tabla with Kousic Sen
Tabla will be taught by the highly experienced and scintillating performer Kousic Sen. He trained under Pt Kumar Bose, and uniquely brings together the experiences of the top gharanas of tabla tradition, with his own skills in accompanying classical, contemporary, world music and Indian dance too.
Bharatnatyam with Dr Swati Raut
Bharatnatyam courses, following the ISTD syllabus, are offered for beginners and intermediate students of all ages and backgrounds. The course, offered by ISTD faculty Swati Raut, an experienced performer and teacher, integrates theory, practice and performance and prepares all the students for an all-round experience of this beautiful and popular dance form.
