If we make small steps together, we can change the world. Our belief at Milapfest is to bring people together through the arts, and help make a difference to society through performance, education and participation. If you would like to be a part of this, and make sure that in your own way you are leaving this world a better place, read on!
It is well-known that arts performances can help broaden your horizons, change opinions, influence your personal well-being or bring about positive emotional responses. Our performance programme all over the UK is designed to provide you with an escape from your everyday life, and give you the chance to immerse yourself in the unique arts and culture of the Indian subcontinent. You simultaneously get the opportunity to understand and experience another culture, which can help in our efforts to bring together people of various backgrounds.
Milapfest also trains young artists, to allow them to become professionals, teachers or ambassadors, so that they can pass on their knowledge and experience to future generations.
You can help in our quest to make a difference to society by making a donation to our charity.
£50 can help a young person learn Indian music for an entire academic term.
£100 can help send a young artist to receive professional development
£500 will help us to produce one free concert, enabling young people, unwaged and the unemployed to experience an Indian arts performance for free.

Here's a very easy way for you to raise funds for Samyo - the UK's National South Asian Youth Orchestra. The orchestra is run by Milapfest, the National South Asian Arts Development Trust, which is a 24 year old national charity. Samyo's mission is to provide inspirational training and performance opportunities for talented young musicians, while giving audiences the chance to witness newly written music performed by a unique collection of instruments from the North and South Indian music traditions.
All of Samyo's income goes towards the creation and development of a programme of activities to support the orchestra, and now you can help simply by shopping online through easyfundraising.org.uk.
There's no extra commitment required, no extra fees, and nothing extra to pay. All you have to do is the same as what you normally do. There's no catch - just a small donation will go from the retailer to Milapfest / Samyo.
Do you shop at any of the following stores online? If so, please do it through easyfundraising and you will help make a difference to young musicians, giving them opportunities to gain confidence and skills, and help to spread the culture of Indian music to audiences all over the country, bringing people together.
