The International Summer School for Indian Music
(Former the Annual Summer Retreat)

Since 2003, Milapfest has organised an annual Summer Retreat, a music school for the members of our two national orchestras Samyo and Tarang. (link buttons to their subpages). These summer retreats provide inspirational training and composition work for the students, and have taken place in recent years at Chetham's School of Music (2005), Dartington International School of Music (2006-8) and at Ambleside, Windermere, with the Lake District Summer Music Academy (2009). Our summer school tutors have included Pt Ajoy Chakraborty, Professor T V Gopalakrishnan, Manorama Prasad, Sanju Sahai, Dharambir Singh, Gaurav Mazumdar, Ganesh & Kumaresh, Dr Jayanthi Kumaresh, Pt Debasish Bhattacharya, Dr Rajeeb Chakraborty, Pt Tarun Bhattacharya, Anuradha Pal and Patri Satish Kumar.

From 2010, the school expands to provide training, introductions and tuition in Indian music for members of the public, and young students too. Further details coming soon!
