Welcome to Arts School
Milapfest’s Arts School is a weekly programme of courses offered at Liverpool Hope University’s Creative Campus. There are currently seven programmes on offer, many of which are offered in a variety of levels, or are separate classes for either adults or children. The Arts School is open to students of all ages, backgrounds and abilities.
Courses currently available at Milapfest Arts School:
- Carnatic Vocal
- Hindustani Violin
- Hindustani Vocal
Each course follows a syllabus and regular learning plan that had been collaboratively designed by the course teachers and Milapfest’s Education Department. The curriculum covers practice, performance, and theory. Tutors at Arts School are all trained musicians and dancers, many of whom are performing artists in their own right. Milapfest currently offers ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance) examinations in Bharatanatyam, and has strong ties with CAT (Centre for Advanced Training) with several Arts School students now attending CAT training programmes regularly. In 2016 we will be introducing Prayag Sangit Samiti syllabus and examinations in Kathak, Tabla and Hindustani Vocal. Please contact our Arts School Coordinator for more details on syllabuses and examinations at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The programme runs in partnership with Liverpool Hope University at the Cornerstone Building of Liverpool Hope University’s Creative Campus. See map here.
